Instagram roundup – December

December was a crazy month for me. I worked four temp jobs in four different offices in as many weeks – c’est la vie of an office zombie. Not to mention Christmas on top of all of it! I was approached by some very inspiring people in December on the design side of things, to embark on new and exciting projects in the months ahead. All of which I cannot wait to get my teeth into – regardless of how terrifying they may be. I also have some big plans festering in my brain that I’d like to make to our home in the months ahead. There’s nothing quite like the overindulgence of Christmas to make you purge every last inch of your home.

Not only Christmas, but new years has now come and gone. I know – thank you Captain Obvious! I’m always amazed at how quickly the days fly by when I’m not in work. I ate way too much, slept in too long, achieved next to nothing and it was all kinds of excellent. Back to reality tomorrow.
To wrap up December’s Instagram antics I’ll leave you with not one, but two kitteh Instavideos …

They’re up to no good, those two. xx A

I hope you …

Today I’m another year older and bolder. Today is also the first day in months that it is rainy and rather gloomy. I’m ignoring that by watching a favourite movie or two, a beverage in each hand, stuffing my face with food I’m usually cautious of, spinning with arms wide open and fancifying my nails. Nails first though, then booze. Word to the wise; don’t do it the other way around. Especially with gel nail polish. Learn from my mistakes.
Thanks to incredibly adora-balls husband who braved the weather this morning, I had a croissant with tomato, mozzarella and pesto and a carrot cupcake fresh from the bakery for breakfast. F*ck yeah.
So, what are your favourite things to do on your birthday? Boozy breakfasts, couch marathons, or fancy restaurants? Whatever you do, I hope you enjoy your weekend and it isn’t too rainy. I have every intention to spend the rest of my day much like so –

Kitty corner

This weekend I gave some special attention to our kitties. To wind it back a bit, it all started with a cross stitch. I’ve wanted for years to create a little something for our cats and hang it down low; for their visual purposes only. All the fancy stuff doesn’t have to be hung up high for human benefit.
Their previous feeding spot was a bit meh. They had some cheeky bowls which I heart very much, but they didn’t fit in with anything and it was time for a change. I set my budget low, and aimed to makeover their space for under €20.

I picked up this frame for €8 from Dunnes Stores, a little serving tray for €5 at Tesco, two vintage glass bowls for €1 each at the Merchants Market and I had an existing white water bowl which was a perfect fit. I will be the first to say, the above looks incredibly cute and I wouldn’t mind keeping them like this {I know Maria and Janine will agree!}, but I wanted more of a bespoke feel, and you know me – I can’t leave anything alone.
I spray painted the frame with my all time fav, ‘winegum’ spraypaint from Montana. The tray got a lot more attention and was a challenge I set myself. With some Montana goldchrome spray paint, a bit more winegum paint and a Sharpie, I was able to magic up a pimpin’ leopard print tray. Perfect for any inner wild cat.

I’m really happy with how this little project turned out. And all for under €20. All kinds of winning. And more importantly, kittehs approve. xx A
