Merry half way there!

It’s official. We are exactly six months through the year. Half way to Christmas. To some people this may cause their skin to crawl, but I’m always thinking six months ahead. These days I’m daydreaming about Christmas time, wooly blankets and hot chocolate. Woah, hold up – those last two happened last night. Yep, our summer is over already here in Ireland it seems … Moving on!

In recent years, husband and I have started a tradition of our own. At Christmas, husbands mom makes us a ridiculously yummy pudding, which is one of husbands most favouritest desserts. So, for the past three years, I’ve saved two healthy slices of Christmas pudding and stored it in the back of our fridge. Then on June 25th, half way there, I dig it out of the fridge and we enjoy a serious slice of pudding {I snuck a tiny bit while taking this picture, and nearly had a When Harry Met Sally moment in the kitchen}.
Do any of you have silly traditions like this you’ve started with your significant other? I can easily see our tradition snowballing out of control when we have produced children, and I end up decorating the house on June 25th. Yeah. I’ll be the weird mom.

p.s. Thank you all so much for your sweet comments and words of support on yesterdays post. I am one lucky gal 🙂 xx A

What a lovely tradition! Anything that involves Christmas food during the year makes me happy! We have a tradition every January 1st, we stay in bed all day, with the phones off and each year we watch a different trilogy. This year it was The Dark Knight trilogy.

That is an awesome tradition Caz! And something we might just take on this year. Sounds so chillaxing and a great way to start a new year. Anything involving duvets gets thumbs up.

wish I liked xmas pudd, but alas I don't. I just about spat out my tea in reference to the "Harry Meet Sally" reference. Really was it that good? lol the pudding not your almost moment lol. We have a few traditions around xmas, which has been great given dh was never a xmas person like I was. So I appreciate it that he makes the most of it. We have one over the decorating of the tree and how we spend our xmas days and of course opening a present at midnight, xmas eve.

Aw, your Christmas traditions are so lovely, and spent together. It sounds so weird, but hubby and I don't spend our Christmas' together. Our families live about a 10 minute drive from each other, so I stay with mine and he with his. He does walk over every Christmas day for cuddles.

p.s. Yes, the pudding was that good.

During the X-mas season our friends have a fun movie theme: For example, last year was "Walken in a Winter Wonderland" where all movies had Christopher Walken in them. I enjoyed "Christmas Slater" a few years ago too.

Oh man, that is going to have to happen in our household this year! We always get stuck for how to spend our hundreds of hours on the couch in our pj's. Must remember this.
