Sneak peek – new living room hue

When do you consider too early for Christmas decorations? I have a couple of exciting things lined up next week, one of which will require me to prematurely decorate for Christmas for a photo shoot [eeeek!] and I’m wondering if I should keep our decorations up for the season, or do it all over again in a couple of weeks? I know. First world problem.

One thing I can give you a sneak peek of is our new living room hue. I’ve wanted to paint the wall behind our shelves a bold colour for a while so on Wednesday night I bit the bullet and bought some dark berry paint. However, the paint has a ‘silk’ effect so it’s shinier than I’d like and I can’t help but stink-eye it. I’ll be repainting it in the next couple of days [in time for a festive little feature! Eeep!] and once I’m happier with it I’ll take some better pictures.

From rainy and pissy Dublin, I hope you have a happy Friday, homies, and enjoy the weekend ahead xx A

It is so close to December that you might as well leave your decoration up! I would, but then I am a lazy sod these days. In fact it might take me so long to decorate I might start now as well. Hubby's family puts their tree up Xmas eve and spend all night decorating it. Drives me full on bananas.

Love the drama of your new wall colour!

After I published this post I realized I could simply put the Christmas tree in our spare bedroom for a couple of weeks. I always get worried I'm going to kill the Christmas vibe by decorating too early. But I love Christmas. It's a real drama. But the decorations are staying on the tree regardless.

And can I just take a moment to say decorating on Xmas eve is just ridiculous. No offence to your in laws, but I'd absolutely loose it.

Oooh that wall colour looks all sorts of sexy! I'm loving it already! And yes, I would totally just leave everything up. I normally decorate the first weekend in December because it takes me so long that I figure I might as well get some enjoyment out of it for a few weeks. Photoshoot sounds rather exciting as well, can't wait to hear all about it! Whoop! Happy Friday from a pissing down Manchester as well 😉 xxx

If I could, I think I'd eat our wall. It's so yummy. And I agree with you and Pat, the decorations will probably stay up. I just love Christmas so much that once I get in the spirit, it's a snow ball effect and I get out of control. It's too much to happen twice in a month.

Hopefully the weather cleared up for you! It's not raining here! Yet.
