Lately …

… there’s been a lot of organizing and planning all up in my face. I’m getting an exponential amount of excitement from crossing stuff off our big day list, but I’m super run down. I acquired a lovely dose of strep throat which has spiraled into a chest infection. All of which I’ve been told are due to stress.

So I need to do the following, or jump ship …

– Relax and learn to turn my brain OFF. Those of you who have organized something large, you know what I mean when I say it’s on your brain all the time. My mind is draining me.
– Craft with kitties. There’s a reason those two go so well together. Like wine and cheese.
– Read more. And I don’t mean via a machine.
– Go on Facebook less. What a shower of shite that place can be. If I spend more than 30 minutes on it, I get anxious. Less is more.

I am determined to start a yarn project within the next week. If any of you have any suggestions on how to turn your brain off, they will be lovingly welcomed with open arms!

Just this week my apartment building's outdoor pool opened, and swimming is the ultimate mind clearer. The only thing I'm thinking is "Don't Drown, Don't drown!" Perhaps you need some mildly death defying hobbies? Lol.
Or yes, something that requires your concentration so much that you can't get a thought in edgewise. That's me when I knit, because if I don't focus it looks like a 3D experiment.
    Also yoga – "don't fall, don't fall!"

I'm deffo going to look into yoga. I did it years ago and found it such a stress reliever, thanks for the reminder! I just have to get my ass in gear now. Haha, "don't fall, DON'T FALL!"

Sucks about being run down, a yarn project will be good to help take the mind off the planning. Another good thing is burning some essential oils to help relax the mind. Last night I went to an evening where I learnt more about good oils to use during winter, but some of them would be good for your strep throat and run down feeling.

Oh I hope to god you blog about that soon Janine. I will definitely be taking notes. I've found myself picking lots of lavender these days as it smells so gorgeous. Please blog it. My sanity depends on smelly stuff.
